We Are Scientists - Nice Guys
Hurried-ly done Track of the Week this week, but the good news is that it's not because I'm getting lazy, or because I don't care. It's actually because I'm off to Glastonbury tomorrow evening and therefore have been busy packing. (On a similar note; next week's TotW will be VERY late but will feature my Glasto highlight).
However, amongst the preparatory work I've been listening to the new CDs that have dropped through my letterbox, including the awkwardly named Barbara by the ever wonderful We Are Scientists (playing Glastonbury on Sunday evening). It's a cracking album that ventures back sonically and energetically to the groups fantastic debut album and with former Razorlight sticksman Andy Burrows on drums has the band at their rhythmic best.
'Nice Guys' is far from my favourite track from the LP but it's still a cracking single. Classic indie-dancefloor fodder with great guitar parts and a fantastic chorus, which is all you can ask for in a single sometimes. It's certainly preferable to the current waves of blog-pop, which I tire of rather quickly.
